Developing a Book Cover
If your book is size 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", making a cover is simple.
Under FILE and then PAGE SETUP, select LANDSCAPE orientation.
For glue-bound books, use 90 lb bond in size 8-1/2 x 14.
Click on Format and Columns. You will want 3 columns. Make the center one narrow enough for your book and the other two 5-1/2" by 8-1/2" You may have to type something in to see and print a scrap paper a couple of times to measure.
Use Word Art to format the Title you want. The front will be on the right side and the back on the left.
For comb or sewn bound books, use 110 bond available at stores like Target, Walmart, etc.
Use only 2 columns, with the front being on the left and the back on the right. Format as on glue bound and print. Use a paper cutter to cut down the center. If no paper cutter is available, most copy shops will cut for a small fee.
Photos can be imported, and by selecting the ORDER choice on the drawing toolbar, the title can be floated over the picture.
